Meet Paul Paschal – New Director of Operations At Bar W Guest Ranch

The Bar W Guest Ranch in Whitefish, Montana is pleased to announce Paul Paschal as their new Director of Operations

BACKGROUND HISTORY

Bar W Guest Ranch is beyond thrilled to introduce you all to Paul Paschal, the new Director of Operations. Paul has had the wonderful opportunity to work many different jobs and acquire a vast array of skills throughout the years. Paul started worked at his mom’s restaurant at the age of six, washing dishes, bussing tables, and eventually learning how to cook. In high school he spent his summers as a camp counselor and worked at a movie theater and restaurant during the school year. In college and graduate school Paul worked for the housekeeping and food service departments at Grace College.

Paul’s undergraduate degree is in Youth Ministry & Counseling, and he received his master’s degree in Camp Administration. Early on, Paul had a love for working at Christian camps. His goal was to someday be an executive director of a Christian camp and conference center. However, his first main job after marriage was at Teens For Christ in Lima, Ohio. During his nearly 10 years there, he worked with, lead and managed a lot of staff, young adults, and volunteers. After Teens For Christ, he was the Camp Manager of Camp Adventure for 18 months.

Paul and his family visited the Bar W Ranch in the summer of 2021, one they’ll never forget. A few months later, Bill and Barb Wetzel asked Paul, and his wife Beth, to officially be a part of the Bar W Guest Ranch family! Paul was currently a Family Pastor at Bella Vista Church in Rockford, Michigan. It was hard leaving a church family they had really grown to love but the opportunity to work with family in Montana was a unique and exciting opportunity. Paul delightfully accepted the Director of Operations position. His wife Beth Paschal happily accepted a Reservation Specialist in the Sales Department at Bar W.

PERFECT FIT
Paul would never have imagined himself in a Director of Operations role at a ranch. Yet, this is where his skills, abilities, and knowledge has led him. Paul admits, “I love to solve problems, make sure things are working smoothly, and I love to motivate, inspire, and lead people. I don’t mind doing any type of work. I’ll wash dishes and I’ll also do spreadsheets. Neither office work nor manual labor bothers me. Whatever needs done at the ranch; I am in!”

As the Director of Operations at Bar W Guest Ranch in Whitefish, MT, Paul’s role will help oversee the Equine, Programming, Maintenance, Housekeeping, and Food Service departments. He will work with the managers to make sure everything is running safely and efficiently. Paul will help with hiring, dealing with staff, and ensuring Bar W’s everyday operations are cost effective. “I’ll do this with the Bar W Core Values at the forefront of my mind,” says Paul.

BAR W CORE VALUES

  • We Create a Positive Environment
  • We Connect People
  • We Do What We Say

POWER OF FAMILY
Paul and his family are beyond excited to start this new chapter in Whitefish, MT – they’ll be living right on the ranch. In addition to the big move, the Paschal Family has also been going through a major, international adoption process. “Adoption is very personal and special to me (Paul) as I was a former orphan from South Korea. I was abandoned as a toddler on the streets and adopted by a family in the United States.” Family is so important to Paul, “I never want my children or the child we adopt to ever feel alone, unwanted, or unloved.” The Paschal’s international adoption process has been draining and expensive, but it reflects the love that both Paul and Beth have to provide a forever home to a child that doesn’t have a family.

Bar W could not be more excited to have the Paschal’s as a part of the Bar W Family. We’re excited for you all to come out and meet Paul, Beth, and their sweet children Kierney, Thatcher, Oren, and their newest addition, Micah. Come on out, the Bar W Family will take good care of you!
